For The Trees–Podcast 146
I used to work for US forest service and had ample opportunity to be in the presence of old growth trees. They were magnificent and exuded energy that was all encompassing.
One day I came upon An old growth forest that had recently been clear-cut. It was like entering the sacred space of beings who were mourning.
We need not wait for this Love to come to us, or for us to seek out this Love. It is with us now and forever.
All of us. Not just the Christians, or Hindus or Jews. This Power is also with the people who murder, rape
and pillage.
We are all born and we all die. These two milestones are the great equalizers in this life.
The fear of death seems to cause most of the terror and unrest in the world. It causes a shut down of the major arteries leading to the Compassionate Heart.
What would life be like without this overwhelming fear of Death?
Certainly the Boston Marathon Bombs wouldn’t have been conceived. The two year anniversary is now upon us of that tragedy.
We can practice simple meditation techniques to clear out these fears and help us feel connected to all living creatures.
One of my books in The Prayer Prescription Series, 22 Keys To Self-Healing.
clears it all out. It was written with that goal in mind.
Love the Earth, your mother; Love Yourself.
Strengthening these connections will free us all forever.
Not an Ending
It’s not an ending, dear, ” she said,
“it’s just an opening you pass through.”
That’s what I heard
and what I saw, too–
like the lens of a camera opening upon
lights and colors just beyond
before closing up again like a shutter,
leaving me in my darkness,
behind closed eyes, to wonder
whether the pain would pass
or whether I should call 911.
I hate to call 911!
For one thing, it’s a hefty co-pay.
But what if I’m really sick?
Ah, no, the pain passes.
I catch my breath.
It’s just part of the healing,
I tell myself.
But I remember being there before,
seeing those lights before
through the womb-like opening
at the meridian above my brow.
Many times before.
“It’s not an ending, dear,
it’s just an opening you pass through”
When the time is right,
she might have added.
When the time is right.
