For The Trees–Podcast 146

9YfMrDSvtSpduO7V.jpg

We reflect on the beloved trees in our lives.
What can they teach us?
How Do They Love Us? How Do We Love Them?
Let us count the ways!!
What can we learn in the presence of an Old Growth Tree?

I used to work for US forest service and had ample opportunity to be in the presence of old growth trees. They were magnificent and exuded energy that was all encompassing.

One day I came upon An old growth forest that had recently been clear-cut. It was like entering the sacred space of beings who were mourning.

We can feel the love God has for us no matter what. Unconditional Love. The I Love You no matter what-God.

We need not wait for this Love to come to us, or for us to seek out this Love. It is with us now and forever.

All of us. Not just the Christians, or Hindus or Jews. This Power is also with the people who murder, rape
and pillage.

We are all born and we all die. These two milestones are the great equalizers  in this life.

The fear of death seems to cause most of the terror and unrest in the world. It causes a shut down of the major arteries leading to the Compassionate Heart.

What would life be like without this overwhelming fear of Death?

Certainly the Boston Marathon Bombs wouldn’t  have been conceived. The two year anniversary is now upon us of that tragedy.

We can practice simple meditation techniques to clear out these fears and help us feel connected to all living creatures.

One of my books in The Prayer Prescription Series, 22 Keys To Self-Healing.

clears it all out. It was written with that goal in mind.

Love the Earth, your mother; Love Yourself.

Strengthening these connections will free us all forever.

Can we learn to love like that?
This may not be always easy, especially if we see others in our lives choosing self-destructive behaviors.
But we can learn to love as Goddess loves. We can love others like our animals love us.

Here’s a poem my brother, D.D.Delaney, wrote on my blog a few years ago regarding the fear of death. He wrote it after an illness:

Not an Ending

It’s not an ending, dear, ” she said,
“it’s just an opening you pass through.”
That’s what I heard
and what I saw, too–
like the lens of a camera opening upon
lights and colors just beyond
before closing up again like a shutter,
leaving me in my darkness,
behind closed eyes, to wonder
whether the pain would pass
or whether I should call 911.
I hate to call 911!
For one thing, it’s a hefty co-pay.
But what if I’m really sick?
Ah, no, the pain passes.
I catch my breath.
It’s just part of the healing,
I tell myself.
But I remember being there before,
seeing those lights before
through the womb-like opening
at the meridian above my brow.
Many times before.
“It’s not an ending, dear,
it’s just an opening you pass through”
When the time is right,
she might have added.
When the time is right.

God’s Revolution- Podcast 145

UnojlyuNfOkdNd7T.jpgAs we pray with each in and out breath and welcome the beautiful seasons of the year, I wanted to discuss the canonization of Dorothy Day, as seen from the perspective of James Douglass, author of “JFK: And The Unspeakable.”

I wrote to him and asked him whether the Roman Catholic Church plans to canonize Dorothy Day, founder of The Catholic Worker in
America.
He said it would be helpful to have Dorothy Day canonized as a Saint because she would be known more widely as a result, and DESERVES to be known widely, so that “others can realize God’s Will as Dorothy did.”
He said that she strenuously objected to being canonized, to be identified as a saint, because she thought she’d be easily dismissed that way.
Then he said, “She’d be more tolerant of a process that might actually help people discover God’s revolution in this world as she did,”
I loved this part: “Dorthy inspired many people to what they would consider miracles in their own lives, because she saw God’s awesome possibilities within them. A phrase she often used in speaking of someone was, “He (or she) is a wonder!”
“When a person knew that Dorothy saw that power or possibility in you- which was, of course, true- pushed you beyond your own poor sense of self  to miraculous steps forward. That’s why she was, in fact, a saint.”
Dorothy Day One said “We all have a duty to delight.”  Dorothy rejected the  “one false step God” and embraced the  “no matter what-ness of God,” which all true saints embrace.
Does this mean all of us are saints who embody the no matter whatness of God? Is this the true revolution waiting to happen?
I am thinking about these possibilities, today. How can we support those around us so that they can feel God’s will because of the Love we beam their way? As we give the liberation of unconditional love, acceptance and tolerance to people, the (I Love You) no matter what gift to all we meet,  best exemplified by Canine Consciousness, we are free.
That’s all there is to it.

Music Of The Animals- Podcast 144

IMG_1986.JPG

In our Western culture, although death has come out of the closet, it is still not openly experienced or discussed. Allowing dying to be so intensely present enriches both the preciousness of each moment and our detachment from it.  – Ram Dass

Dear Goddess, Everything, every person, my daily work, every relationship and everyone I meet, everyone I help and helps me, allows me to set my inner compass. All of it helps me work with my personal power. How I work and play with my energy gives insight as to how to give and receive all of the available and endless energy in the world.

Goddess works through the personal power of love, grace and gratitude. Goddess works through our animals, and the messages we receive daily through books, media and chance conversations.

How do we choose to learn from all of these seemingly random stimuli? Do we slow down and pause in order to receive messages coherently and deliberately?

Or does the incoming data speed up our senses and reaction time? Do we walk and breathe faster and allow the mind to run rampant with recycled thoughts?

Today is the day when we wake up collectively to the music of the spheres, the great cosmic messages that are ours if we open to receive them. We can learn to give what we received tenfold because we realize the beauty of the gift.

Look into the eyes of your companion animal, or a dog or cat you happen to meet in your travels. What revelations can be garnered from those soulful windows into the fathomless pool of spirit?

Who is speaking to you through those eyes? Listen without doubt or fear.

Receive the love that brought you into this world.

Om Peace Amen

Prayer For The Seasons–Podcast 142

Prayer For The Seasons

Prayer For The Seasons

Dear Goddess, Thank you for seeing us through another entire tax season. Perhaps the next season will be less stressful. Perhaps the process will be streamlined.

Now it is time for spring cleaning and planting a garden: vegetables for food, flowers for beauty. The four seasons give great opportunity for adjustment and fine-tuning of our bodily energy systems. For instance, as energy rises from the earth in spring time, we capture the synergy into our collective heart and sing songs and dance with purifying breezes.

Summer brings with it cleansing heat to our bodies and long days with picnics and celebrations, sunbathing and sun appreciation. Pearlie likes to take her long walks in the cool of a summer morning. Those moments before the sun reaches her zenith are the only time to get things done. But Pearlie’s walks are always on the top of the list.

Autumn reminds us of endings and contemplation as the days shorten after the summer solstice. The nights grow longer. The sky brings dramatic changes of dark and light, and weather can be unpredictable. Autumn brings with it the reminder of the winter ahead.

As winter begins, the days grow ever shorter, yet weather is perfect for outdoor winter sports. Ice is a reality for us in winter. Slipping and falling on ice is a good way to die. Yak Tracks are in my future for the next cycle of the winter months.

Winter is a beautiful season. All seasons are perfectly gorgeous in their own way. We live on the Conestoga River and in Winter I can see clear down to the Lancaster County Park and clear up to the bridge that takes travelers to historic Lancaster City. As close as we are to the city, we are protected from it by wildfowl, raccoons, Red Fox, Eagles, Heron and Hawk. The barking red fox and woot of the Owl is sublime as I lie listening by an open window.

And always the return of spring time. This year it was late by at least a month. We were still slipping and sliding on ice as recently as 30 days ago. Thankfully we have a four-wheel-drive vehicle to brave the 280 foot Lane we live on. I am always pray-full when the snowstorms move in. I still have to get to home births in Amish country. Braving weather conditions strengthens me and makes me fearless. But I don’t ever look forward to facing the reality of a snowstorm in the middle of the night – the times I work.

Calling in the guardian angels is always a good idea, for every season, for every endeavor.

Om Peace Amen

Trail Mix & Goon

SpencerAs mentioned in yesterday’s blog post, The Nursing Career Transformation Roundtable Launched Yesterday. My husband Tomaso and I are launching another Hanginar series on 10/27/14. We will interview Spencer Johnson, author of Trail Mix & Goon. Spencer is in his early 20s and this is his first Memoir.

The Memoir has a feel between a travelogue and a Jack Kerouac psychic free mind kind of flow. I am enjoying the read.

Spencer is passionate about solving the climate crisis. His book chronicles his travels in Australia in 2012 when he studied climate change there as part of his college curriculum.

Spencer wants to work with Bill McKibben and has met and spoken to him several times. 350.org is at the heart of the work being done to reverse climate change on planet earth. The science has been done and explains why we are in a climate crisis.

Apartheid in South Africa ended when big business divested from those corporations that supported Apartheid. Dependence on big oil can be obliterated overnight when companies divest from oil stocks.

We will discuss these topics and much much more on Mondays Hanginar.

Quotes From The Secret DVD Part 3

76) Have only the healthiest respect for yourself.
77) For those you work with or interact with regularly — get a notebook and
write down positive aspects of each of those people.
78) Write down the things you like most about the people in (77) without
expecting them to change. Law of Attraction will not put you in the same space
together if your frequencies don’t match.
79) When you realize your potential to feel good, you will ask no one to be
different in order for you to feel good.
80) You will free yourself from the cumbersome impossibilities of needing to
control the world, your friends, your mate, your children.
81) YOU ARE the only one that creates your reality.
82) No one else can think or feel for you. It’s YOU!! ONLY YOU!!
83) Health: Thank the Universe for your own healing. LAUGH: Stress-free
happiness will keep you healthy.
84) The Immune System Will Heal Itself!
85) Parts of our bodies are replaced every day, every week, etc. — within a few
years we have a brand new body.
86) See yourself living in a new body. Be hopeful = Recovery. Be Happy =
Happier biochemistry. Stress degrades the body.
87) Remove stress from the body and the body regenerates itself. You can heal
yourself.
88) Learn to become still. Take your attention away from what you don’t want,
and place your attention on what you wish to experience.
89) When the voice and vision on the inside become more profound, and are
clearer than the opinions on the outside, then you have mastered your life.
90) You are not here to try to get the world to be just as you want it. You are
here to create the world around you to be aligned with your highest destiny.
91) Choose the world of your own creation, and allow the world as others choose
to see it, exist as well.
92) People think that if everyone knows the power of the Law of Attraction (LOA)
there won’t be enough to go around. This is a lie that’s been ingrained in us and
creates greed.
93) The truth is there is more than enough love, creative ideas, power, joy and
happiness to go around.
94) All of this abundance begins to shine through a mind that is aware of its own
infinite nature. There’s enough for everyone. See it. Believe it. It will show up for
you.
95) So, let the variety of your reality thrill you as you choose all the things you
want. Get behind the good feelings of all your wants.
96) Write your script. When you see things you don’t want, don’t think about
them, write about them, talk about them, push against them, or join groups that
focus on the “don’t wants”. Remove your attention from “don’t wants”. Place your
attention on your “do wants”.
97) We are masses of energy. Everything is energy. EVERYTHING!!
98) Don’t define yourself by your body. Define yourself by the infinite spirit that’s
connected to everything in the Universe.
99) Our bodies distract us from Source Energy. There’s only one Energy. We are
the infinite field of unfolding possibilities, called the Creative Force.
100) Are your thoughts worthy of you? If not, NOW is the time to change them.
You can begin right where you are right now. Nothing matters but this moment
and what you focus your attention on.
