Not On My Shift– Podcast 193
Posted in Prayer Prescription Series
I was doing my morning journaling and the phrase “not on my shift” popped into my head. This phrase usually means, the patient is not going to die, have a code or upset the apple cart until it’s my time to go home. The next shift can take care of any of those disturbing situations, but don’t let them happen to me.
What would be more appropriate is if “not on my shift” transforms to “the buck stops here.”
No whining on my shift.
No one up man ship on my shift.
No bullying on my shift.
Whatever happens on my shift, I face it’s squarely and honestly without denying or defying the situation.
Nurses are facing a sicker and sicker population of humans in the work they do.
When Doctors scream at nurses – not on my shift.
When midwives throws nurses under the bus- not on my shift.
When punitive leadership styles and fear of losing your job rear up because you are standing up for yourself- not on my shift.
The universe supports me – on my shift.
I am am in complete control of my life – on my shift.
My life and your life is abundant – on my shift.
There are infinite possibilities – on my shift.
